What is TeslaMate and do I need it?
Yes — Teslog requires a self-hosted TeslaMate instance with the TeslaMate API enabled. TeslaMate is a free, open-source Tesla data logger that runs on your own server (e.g., a Raspberry Pi or a cloud VPS). It continuously records your vehicle data which Teslog then displays beautifully on your iPhone.
Is my Tesla data safe?
Absolutely. Teslog connects directly to your own server — we never see or store your Tesla data. Your API credentials are encrypted with AES and stored in the iOS Keychain. Authentication uses Firebase with Apple or Google sign-in, and cloud-synced settings are also encrypted before being saved to Firestore.
Which Tesla models are supported?
Teslog works with any Tesla vehicle supported by TeslaMate — Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck. If TeslaMate can log it, Teslog can display it.
Is Teslog free?
Teslog is free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, ads, or in-app purchases. All features are available from day one.
Can I use Teslog on multiple devices?
Yes. Sign in with the same Apple or Google account on any device and your API configuration syncs automatically via Firebase. No need to re-enter your server details.
